Varied costs of art pieces
When it comes to works of art, there is no hard and fast
rule for how much you need to spend, but experts agree that without putting
some serious analysis and money into acquiring works of art that suit the
house, the property will never feel good.
"Everyone in the arts, and even people who do not know
about art, can feel the difference if they work in a house where there are
quality works of art on the walls," said Timothy Yarger, an art dealer and
adviser. who owns a gallery in Beverly Hills called Timothy Yarger Fine Art .

At the other end of the spectrum, "if you go into a
house and there's no good art, you feel that too," Yarger said.
When it comes to equipping luxury homes with art
collections, Yarger said he works on three types of projects. The first is when
you are hired by a developer to enter and hang a collection of cohesive art on
the walls before showing the property to potential buyers. The second is when
he is hired by a new owner who wants to create a collection. And the third is
when you work with people who already have the house and at least the beginning
of the collection and are making art acquisitions.
When it comes to working with developers, Yarger said he
collaborates with interior designer Christina Craemer, owner of Arc54 Studio,
as well as professional design associations Minotti LA and Mass Beverly LA, to
ensure that the furniture and art collection look like personal, have a thread
of continuity, and tell a story to potential buyers. "These pieces are not
just decorative," Yarger said.
He recently installed a $ 280,000 collection on a
Beverly Grove property that was
sold in weeks. Yarger and the developer think that the artwork was part of the
reason for the quick sales. "Everyone who walked commented repeatedly on
how beautiful the collection was," Yarger said, noting that the
prospective buyer bought one of Mads Christensen's pieces , which he had hung
in the living room.
